Description

In the north of the island lies the beautiful town of Haría, which is extremely pretty and tranquil due to its many palm trees and typical white houses. The church, Rambla, town hall, water reservoir, and market hall are all on your way through Haría. Upon reaching the cliffs, you'll have a breathtaking view from the Famara cliffs down to the longest beach on the island and even to the small neighboring island of La Graciosa. The cliffs are home to extraordinary flora and fauna, as numerous endemic species, animals, and plants live here that you can only find on Lanzarote. The terraced slopes of the valley were once intensively farmed. The particularly high yields are due to the 'picon' – a gift from the volcanic eruptions in the 17th century. After the hike through the valley, you will finally pay a visit to César Manrique's home. The artist lived and worked for many years in this spacious and well-developed finca, which includes a studio. On a walking tour of the grounds, you will learn a lot about the life and work of the island's most famous son and his merits as an “advocate” for Lanzarote. An experienced and officially certified guide from the Canary Islands will lead you on the hike and through the house. Join us on a hike through the green Palmental and let yourself be enchanted by this unique place! Walking time: 2:30 Length: 7.5 km/4.7 miles Altitude: +/- 525 feet (160 meters) Difficulty: easy
