This walking tour explores La Geria, Lanzarote’s distinctive wine region shaped by volcanic eruptions in the 18th century. After much of the island was covered by lava, local farmers developed innovative cultivation methods on dry volcanic soil without water.
Covering a 9-kilometer route, the walk demonstrates how residents adapted to the volcanic landscape through their ingenuity and perseverance. Participants will taste the region’s acclaimed dry volcanic Malvasia white wine and ascend to the island’s third-highest point to enjoy sweeping views of the surroundings.
