Description
The walk starts in the village of Maguez, crossing valleys and colorful meadows with impressive cliff views. You will visit villages notable for their traditional architecture, including Haria, located in the “One Thousand Palm Tree Valley.”
Haria has a history marked by hardship, invasions, and emigration. It is now recognized for its well-preserved architecture and local market held every Saturday. Here, you can purchase homemade goat cheese, local mojos, and jams.
This area also hosts important communities of endemic plants such as Verode (Aeonium lancerottense), Tojia (Asteriscus intermedius), and Viborina de Lanzarote (Echium lancerottense). Bird species like the Guirre (Egyptian vulture) and Barbary falcon are also common in the region. The walk is rated easy to moderate in intensity.
